SECTORS C3 – C4

Rail

The most comprehensive interior and exterior coating systems on the market for wagons, locomotives and infrastructure. On railway vehicles, coatings must withstand not only corrosion but also constant vibration and aggressive cleaning chemicals.

TYPICAL LOAD · Vibration, stone chipping, cleaning chemicals

RISK ANALYSIS

This is where corrosion comes from.

  • Local film damage caused by ballast and stone impact
  • Loss of adhesion and flexibility under constant vibration
  • Alkaline chemicals used for depot/workshop cleaning
  • Build-up of moisture and salt in underbody areas

APPLICATION AREAS

Where is it used?

Passenger and freight wagons

Locomotive bodies

Bogies and chassis

Station steel structures

Signalling masts

POINTS TO NOTE
  • Apply a stripe coat in impact-prone areas
  • Do not overdo rigid epoxy film thickness where flexibility is required
  • Topcoat selection is critical for resistance to cleaning chemicals
